Getting the Facts to
40th District Voters

…without the help of piles of corporate campaign cash.

Lifelong organizer Miguel Alvelo-Rivera STOOD SHOULDER-TO-SHOULDER WITH US IN THE fight against ICE.

That’s why our community asked him to challenge 40th District State Rep. Jaime Andrade, who was nowhere to be found during the crisis last fall.

Now, Jaime Andrade is trying to confuse voters with defamatory mailers—paid for by the billionaires and corporate interests that have given him more than $1.2 million dollars.

Miguel Alvelo-Rivera speaks at an October 2025 protest he helped organize against ICE kidnappings of day laborers at Home Depot.

When Donald Trump intensified attacks on our neighbors, Miguel jumped into action.

As the head of an organization supporting undocumented workers, he brought community patrols to Home Depots and helped organize rapid response. That’s why Miguel has the support of progressive champions like Congresswoman Delia Ramirez, who is leading the charge to defund and dismantle ICE.

Here are just a few examples of the disinformation being circulated by Jaime Andrade, with the help of some serious corporate cash.

Let’s set the record straight by citing some actual sources.

1. The claim: Miguel is backed by politicians who want to expand ICE in our community.

The facts:

This is a bold-faced lie—about both Miguel and our congresswoman, Delia Ramirez, who endorsed him. Delia has consistently voted against increasing ICE funding, and she is the primary sponsor of legislation to dismantle the agency.

Miguel will work with Delia to get ICE out of our communities, and he will never take a dime from anyone supporting Trump’s terror force.

Our opponent, Jaime Andrade, cannot say the same—he has accepted money from corporations like Enterprise that do business with ICE

Miguel has faced down ICE and been physically assaulted while aiding neighbors. As our state rep, he will fight for us in Springfield and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us in the streets. That’s what this moment calls for.

2. The claim: Miguel cheered POLITICIANS WHO cut housing and healthcare.

The facts:

Miguel is part of the movement fighting to tax the rich and fund housing and healthcare.

Here is how our opponent is twisting the facts: This year, progressives fought to tax the city’s biggest corporations to fund public services. When corporate-backed alderpeople instead pushed through a city budget that raised property taxes and hiked fees on working people, progressives voted against it

Miguel cheered alders like Rossana Rodriguez and Anthony Quezada for fighting for a budget that puts working people first, and he’s proud to have their endorsement.

3. The claim: Miguel will bring MAGA’s cuts to our communities.

The facts:

Miguel is fighting for universal healthcare and childcare, public schools and transit, and affordable housing. And he’s the only candidate committed to taxing the millionaires and billionaires in our state.

Jaime Andrade stood by as 30,000 immigrant adults in Illinois lost their healthcare last year, while our other progressive elected officials fought like hell to save it. And Jaime has yet to say whether he’ll support taxes on his wealthy donors in order to avoid more devastating cuts this year.

4. The claim: Miguel is bankrolled by “insiders” and big donors.

The facts:

From Day 1, Miguel has been clear that he will never take money from developers, corporations, or their PACs. His campaign is backed by unions and proven progressives like Delia Ramirez, as well as neighbors who volunteer their time and money.

Jaime Andrade is backed by anti-tax billionaires like Michael Sacks, giant corporations like ComEd and Amazon, the real-estate lobby, and, most recently, two new dark money PACs filling up your mailboxes: the “American Future Fund,” and “Making Our Tomorrow,” funded by the sports gambling company DraftKings and Meta, respectively.

Jaime’s donations from billionaires and corporate interests outnumber his small-dollar individual donations by more than 30:1. How can we trust him to represent our interests in Springfield when he’s bought and paid for by the same interests he claims to oppose?

Our opponent is outspending us, but our campaign runs on people power.
